Getting started

From ingredients to the oven

Gather ingredients

Cut wheat with a scythe to collect a bunch of wheat.
Keep the recipe ingredients and an empty vial handy when making juice.

Prepare the dough

Use wheat on a millstone to make flour.
Use flour with water for bread dough, or with milk for cake dough. Combine any extra ingredients required by the recipe.

Bake or finish the recipe

Use prepared dough on an oven or coal basin to bake it.
For cookies, use the dough on a baking tray before baking it.

What can you prepare?

Bread

Make dough from flour and water, then bake it on an oven or coal basin.

Cakes

Bake cake dough for a cake. Mix cake dough with a bar of chocolate first to make chocolate cake dough.

Cookies

Shape dough on a baking tray and bake it to make cookies. Garlic dough can be used for garlic cookies.

Garlic bread

Use flour with a special flask of water to make holy-water dough, then combine it with a bulb of garlic. Bake it for garlic bread or shape it on a tray first for garlic cookies.

Gingerbreadman

Exchange 10 Christmas Tokens with Ruprecht for the Gingerbread Recipe and read it. When baking cake dough, you can then choose a cake or a gingerbreadman at any oven or coal basin.

Fruit juice

Use a fruit and an empty vial with a juice squeezer to produce juice.

Decorated and party cakes

Use a kitchen knife on fruit while carrying a cake to prepare a decorated cake. Use a candlestick on it to make a party cake.

Hot Cuisine

Preparing one of Jean Pierre’s dishes also counts. Follow his Hot Cuisine quest and bring the ingredients requested for the current dish.

Progress rules

What counts as cooking?

Cooking progress is awarded when a finished item is produced, juice is squeezed, a cake is decorated, or a Hot Cuisine dish is completed.

Preparing ingredients does not grant progress: milling wheat, making dough, or combining ingredients for a recipe are intermediate steps. Cooking level currently tracks your practice; it does not change recipe results or cooking chances.

Before you start Make room in your inventory for the result. If a recipe cannot produce its item, it will not consume the ingredients or grant Cooking progress.
